The J.M. Martinac Shipbuilding Corporation was founded in 1924 and still occupies its original site on the Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma, Washington. Since the beginning, Martinac has specialized in the design and construction of vessels up to 250 feet long. Over 70 tuna seiners, numerous harbor tugs, oceangoing tugs, factory trawlers, ferries, yachts, U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats, and a research sailing vessel represent the range of Martinac products. Collectively, Martinac has delivered over 300 vessels to date.

Family owned and operated since its inception, the J.M. Martinac Shipbuilding Corporation is now in its third generation of family management.
