The Valiant

The Valiant , also known as YT802, is one of a series of six tugs supplied to the U.S. Navy. The Z-Tech 4500 design is 90’ x 38’ and delivers 40 metric tonnes of bollard pull. The propulsion system is comprised of two Caterpillar 3512 diesel engines providing power to two Schottel model 1012 azimuthing rudderpropellors. The YT-class carries 25,000 gallons of fuel, accommodates six and maintains 12.5 knots. The vessel is in service in the Puget Sound supporting U.S. Navy operations.
